$235,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR PILBARA AND KIMBERLEY STUDENTS

Aboriginal and regional students across the Pilbara and Kimberley have the chance to access a share of more than $235,000 in scholarships through the Pilbara Kimberley University Centres (PKUC). The latest scholarship round includes 105 scholarships supported by 24 sponsors, with around half of the funding available specifically for Aboriginal students in the region.

PKUC says the scholarships are designed to support students studying higher education online while living in regional communities. Applicants must currently be enrolled in a university course and residing in the Pilbara or Kimberley. Major contributors include Pilbara Aboriginal Regional Aboriginal Corporation, which is providing more than $100,000 in scholarships for Pilbara Aboriginal students, alongside $15,000 from Wunan in the Kimberley and $10,000 from Mary MacKillop Today.

Applications are open now and close on March 16th. Students can apply by registering through the PKUC website, where they can review eligibility requirements and scholarship conditions. PKUC staff say they are also available to help people explore study options and career pathways for those interested in starting higher education.
