BRADLEY HALL BAND PERFORMING AT THE ROEBOURNE RACES MARBLE CUP TONIGHT

Nyiyaparli man, Bradley Hall from the East of the Pilbara, will be playing with his band at the Roebourne Races this Saturday, the 2nd of July at the Marble Bar Cup. The Bradley Hall Band is expected to bring country rock and rock n roll music.

“This will be my first big show in a fair while, to be honest, it’s been a few months at least,” he said. “We’re gonna dust those cobwebs off and come out and turn the volume up.”

With the Marble Bar Cup day commencing at the start of Naidoc Week, Bradley Hall tells Ngaarda Media why he’s keen to perform ahead of this week’s celebrations.

“I think it’s a chance to show off a little bit, really put Aboriginal culture out on the forefront. And let people know that we’re here and that this is some of the beauty that we get to show,” he said.

With Covid restrictions nearly decimating the music industry, Bradley Hall hopes that everyone gets around the Arts industry because it had hit a lot of people in the creative space.

“To be honest, there’s been a lot of after effect of covid, I’d say there’s still that fear, even though the restrictions have held off, and because we’ve been in it for the last couple of years, people still have that fear of gathering in big places,” Bradley explained.

“And that overflows into industries where the industry is built on people. You think about the races, you think about concerts, any type of gatherings with a lot of people, those have been the ones that have been hit so hard.”

“ I’ve had some musician mates who don’t think they’ll ever come back into the music industry.”

“You kind of got to ask the question sometimes too like is this the place you want to be? It’s a hard industry on a good day after covid hit and when the restrictions came in it decimated, it killed the industry.”

“It’s been a bit scary you got to chase that support. You got to hope that everyone gets behind the arts industry in general.”

“We’re not fully back 100% I don’t think as an industry but I think you’ve got to start somewhere and hopefully Roebourne is a good place to kick off for us. “

The Bradley Hall band will kick off after the Undies Run around 5:30 pm.
