Indigenous leaders, entrepreneurs and cultural thinkers from across Australia have gathered in Perth today for First Nations House 2025, an event showcasing innovation, leadership and a strong connection to Country.

Held at The Kingsman on The Esplanade, the gathering brought together influential voices in Indigenous business and community development.

Attendees took part in keynote sessions, cultural performances and panel discussions focused on economic empowerment, digital inclusion, sustainability and creative collaboration.

A key panel this morning featured Yindjibarndi leader Michael Woodley, Innovation and Digital Economy Minister Stephen Dawson, and ANZ Head of First Nations Strategy Shelley Cable, among others.

They explored the future of Indigenous-led enterprise and the partnerships needed to strengthen self-determined economic development.

The event also highlighted the achievements of Michael Wear, an Indigenous Australian marine conservationist and founder of the sea cucumber fishery Tidal Moon.

Mr Wear received the Prime Minister’s Prize for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Knowledge Systems 2025, recognising his work combining traditional knowledge with modern marine science.

Organisers say today’s gathering celebrates First Nations excellence and brings together leaders who are shaping a more connected, innovative and culturally grounded future for Australia.
