The official poster for NAIDOC Week 2025 has been revealed, with proud Wiradjuri artist Jeremy Worrall announced as the winner of this year’s prestigious NAIDOC Week Poster Competition.
Worrall’s digital artwork Ancestral Lines was selected for its powerful reflection of the 2025 theme: “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”—a theme calling on Australians to invest in and uplift young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people while acknowledging the strength of past generations.
A Digital and Motion Designer with NITV and SBS, Worrall said the work is deeply personal, drawing from the intergenerational ties that shape identity.
“Ancestral Lines represents the powerful connections between past, present and future,”
“I hope it inspires pride and strength in the next generation.”
Speaking with Ngaarda Media, he described the emotional moment he received the news.
“I felt like I had just won the lottery,” he said.
“It was a really amazing feeling. I've been participating in the poster competition now for around six years… It’s never really been about winning—it’s more about creating art. When they called to say I got it, I was almost brought to tears. I was just really happy.”
NAIDOC Week 2025 will run from 6 to 13 July, with Worrall’s artwork to be featured across the country in schools, community organisations, government buildings and beyond.
The annual poster competition is a long-standing part of NAIDOC Week and highlights the artistic excellence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, whose works continue to educate and inspire all Australians.
The 2025 poster and theme resources are available for download via the official NAIDOC website.
