Aboriginal tourism operators from Western Australia were recently invited to visit Aotearoa.

It’s part of a plan from Tourism Western Australia to encourage New Zealanders to come to WA to experience the culture of the Aboriginal people.

Some leading tourism businesses were in Auckland to learn how Māori businesses are thriving in the sector.

Jawi woman and owner/operator of Oolin Sunday Island Cultural Tours Rosann Angus, said: “The welcome that we received as a group and as Indigenous people was the most welcoming welcome we’ve ever received it was very beautiful and I was in tears.”
