YINDJIBARNDI RANGERS QUALIFIED TO FIGHT FIRES

The Yindjibarndi rangers have just finished a fire fighting course with the Department of Planning, Lands and heritage which will enable them to legally practice prescribed fires on-country. 

Yindjibarndi rangers manager Taryn Milroy says creating fires on country has been part of his culture since the beginning of time.

“Fire’s been an integral part and it pops up in our creation stories all the time because it’s sustained our way of life and our animals and plants and things like that foever,” he said.
