Crossroads

Crossroads

Monday 9pm - 12am

Welcome to the Crossroads of Americana with John Rabold. For 30 years, J.R. had a vision of doing a show that brought country music and rock music together. But it could not be just anything, it was a sound. But life happens, and the dream had to wait.

On one of many road trips J.R. takes, he heard a radio show while driving through North Carolina in 2017. John was inspired. This was EXACTLY the format he had in his head for YEARS! He knew, one day, he needed to do a similar show. While co-hosting another show called Indiana Nocturne, J.R. decided to just record a show and see what happens Within a month Crossroads of Americana went world wide.

Here, weekly, you will hear Traditional, Outlaw and Alt-country, country influenced rock, and Folk. What current top 40 country does, J.R. does the opposite.

Gram Parsons to Johnny Cash, The Byrds to The New Riders of the Purple Sage, Buck Owens to The Jayhawks, Steve Earle to k.d. lang, John Hiatt to the Eagles, you get the idea. And you will hear artists from where John lives, Indiana, the real Crossroads of America.

When John isn’t doing this radio show, you can find him listening to his vast record collection, hanging with his cats Stevie Ray, Miss Lou Ann Barton, Della and Kalamazoo….he travels quite a bit and working his real job in organ and tissue donation, helping out a local funeral home or DJing weddings.

The 90s and 00s Show

The 90s and 00s Show

Friday 1am - 3am

MIck Hall presents “That 90’s & 00’s Show”. We asked Mick how he got the idea for the show. He recalls the trigger.

“Lockdown brought a lot of sad times, but also brought a lot of us all closer together. Many moons ago when I was a lot younger I used to work with a man that did mobile disco's. So as you do when you are young, I popped along and was hooked straight away. So I jumped onto the bandwagon and got involved hands on, how all the gear worked etc etc”

Mick did that for many years then got into the pub and club circuit. However after getting married the years slipped by he forgot his musical hobby for many years. In 2020 things changed because of Lockdown. Mick started doing sets online, Instagram & Facebook etc which rekindled the passion.

He then got in touch with his old boss who ran a local radio station. As Mick recalled “after a few beers I sweet talked him into a regular show”.

Things took off and Mick Hall put together "That 90's & 00's Show"

.

Charting in the USA

Sunday 10am - 1pm

Charting In The USA is a Top 40 countdown show featuring the Top 40 songs for that broadcast week in a particular year according to the Billboard charts. Chuck Shorter developed the concept while an on-air DJ with Solid Gold Gem, based in the UK. The initial concept was a one-hour countdown show of songs that made it to the year end charts for a particular week each year. I decided to expand the concept and developed a three-hour show to build the Charting In The USA brand. Over the weeks, we will cover the Top 40 songs in the USA for the years 1960 through 1995.
