After hearing his six-year-old son asked him to stop drinking “silly drink” on Christmas morning, Gamilaraay man Clinton Schultz made the decision to quit alcohol.

6 years later, the psychologist, chef, and founder successfully kicked the habit.

Not only has he kicked the habit, but from that experience, he created Sobah which began in 2017, as a non-Alcoholic IPA company that uses Indigenous flavours for those who are not interested in alcohol.

The idea for the project came from his own struggle to find suitable, tasty, and non-expensive drinks when going out for drinks with friends.

“I’m not a fan of soft drink and I was really sick of being flogged six bucks every time I go to a bar and ask for soda water and a piece of lime in it.

“I love beer and I’ve always loved the flavour profiles you can get from beer”.

Since then Sobah has moved from leaps to bounds being Australia’s first non-alcoholic craft beer company.
