The federal government has announced $500, 000 in funding to reduce light pollution near threatened species’ coastal habitats.

One area of priority for the funding will be the Dampier Archipelago in the Pilbara, where light pollution can prevent baby turtles from reaching the ocean.

The Government will provide organisations with grants of up to $50 000 to implement strategies to address the issue.

Aboriginal organisations are encouraged to apply.
